Assembly will take place at the location specified by you on the Assembly note subject to the following circumstances:
- You are responsible for inspecting your items for assembly prior to the assembly date ensuring the items are complete, correct and damage free as neither IKEA nor EDL Services will be held responsible for any losses in cost or consequential that you may incur.
- If you discover an incomplete or damaged item, call our office to reschedule your assembly and we will assist you in contacting your supplier.
- You are responsible for ensuring that sufficient access and space to complete the assembly will be available (and the goods that are to be assembled are located in the end user room).
- Our fitters may in their discretion do whatever they can reasonably to assist in moving existing home furnishings within the customer’s premises providing neither EDL Services nor any individual representative of EDL Services shall be responsible for any loss or damage howsoever arising in those circumstances.
Unless EDL Services has agreed in writing to the contrary with the customer:
- The fitter shall not be under any obligation to provide any plant power or labour, other than that stated on the assembly customer contract.
- The Customer warrants that any special appliances required for the assembly which are not carried by the fitter will be provided by the Customer or on the customer’s behalf and neither EDL Services nor any individual representative of EDL Services shall be under no liability whatsoever to the Customer for any damage whatever, however caused.
- The Fitter shall not be required to provide service beyond the stipulated contractual agreement but if any such service is given by the Fitter it shall be at the sole risk of the Customer. The Customer shall indemnify EDL Services and any individual representative of EDL Services against all claims and demands whatever which could not have been made if such instructions as referred to above of this condition and such service as is referred to in this condition had been given.
- You will be liable for the Assembly charges if Assembly cannot be made at the location specified due to the nature of premises, insufficient access or space, missing items, incorrect items, damaged items or any other reason not attributable to us (which shall include your absence);
- The Assembly of your furnishings does not include any permanent fixings to walls, floors or ceilings unless EDL Services has agreed in writing to the contrary with the customer.
EDL Services offer a 12 month warranty on workmanship from the day of assembly. This is completely separate from the warranty that the furniture manufacturer provides on the item itself. Warranty does not cover damage due to misuse, such as putting too much weight on the item or moving the item improperly.
1) Limitation of Liability
(1) Except as otherwise provided in these Conditions the liability of EDL Services or individual representative in respect of claims for physical loss or damage to goods or property comprising the Assembly howsoever arising, shall in all circumstances be limited to the lesser of (a) the value of the goods actually damaged; Or (b) the cost of repairing any damage or of reconditioning the goods;
(2) The liability of EDL Services or any individual representative of EDL Services respect of claims for any other loss whatsoever (including indirect or consequential loss or damage and loss of market) and howsoever arising in connection with the Assembly, shall not exceed the amount of the charges in respect of the Assembly charge as indicated on the assembly contract.

2) Law and Jurisdiction
The Contract shall be governed by English Law and United Kingdom courts alone shall have jurisdiction in any dispute between EDL Services and the Customer.
Non-refundable deposit of £35.00 - is needed in order to secure your assembly date. This deposit is payable upon making the provisional booking and no monies will be re-imbursed. The balance of your order is due for payment in full on the day of your assembly
Booked / damaged Goods assembly cancellation fees shall be equivalent to the total cost of the item/s booking order where cancellation by you has not been received within 3 days of the date of the event. If assembly is cancelled upon arrival of the fitter then a cancellation fee is applicable. A credit for assembly against items noted damaged prior to assembly and having been informed within the timeframes of the ‘Cancellation by you’ policy will be awarded – no refunds apply.
Your deposit is a non-refundable booking fee covering the administrative costs we incur in processing your order.
All credit card payments shall incur a handling charge of 70p per transaction up to a maximum of 3% per transaction.
Cancellation by you:
7 days or more before the date of the event: Full refund
3 days before the date of the event: 50% refund
Less than 3 days before the date of the event: No refund
